HighlightForge privacy notice
Last updated: 17 October 2026
HighlightForge runs on your own PC. Your streams, recordings, transcripts and finished videos are processed and stored only there. They are never uploaded to HighlightForge.
This notice covers the HighlightForge app and its website. HighlightForge is made by Amit Derri, who is responsible for the data described here. Contact: support@highlightforge.app.
What the account server stores
When you sign in, HighlightForge's account server stores:
- your e-mail address (and, with Google sign-in, the basic profile Google shares: name and picture);
- for each new video on the free plan: a random-looking project id (a hash, not the stream's title or link), a hash of your PC's Windows machine id (so the free limit applies per PC; the hash doesn't identify the PC), and the month;
- your subscription status (active, cancelled, renewal date) as reported by the payment provider;
- reports you choose to send (Settings → Help → Send a report): the app's recent log and setup check, with your Windows user name, e-mail addresses and keys removed. You see the whole report before it's sent.
What it's used for
Signing you in, counting the free plan's videos, turning Premium on and off, and helping you when you send a report. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising. The app doesn't track how you use it.
Who processes it for HighlightForge
- Supabase hosts the account server and its database (in the EU).
- Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for Premium: it takes the payment, handles tax and sends receipts. HighlightForge never sees your card details.
- Resend delivers the sign-in e-mails (your e-mail address and the sign-in link).
- Google handles "Continue with Google" when you choose it.
Other services you choose to use
Google Gemini (with your own API key), YouTube (download and upload) and Riot Data Dragon (champion art) are contacted directly from your PC, under their own terms. HighlightForge doesn't receive that data.
How long it's kept
Your account data stays until you delete the account. Reports are deleted after 12 months, or with the account. Lemon Squeezy keeps payment records as the tax law requires.
Your rights
- Delete your account at any time in Settings → Account (cancel an active subscription first). The e-mail address, video counts and reports are deleted with it.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by e-mail at support@highlightforge.app. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
